Not one but two master bedrooms
Do you recognise this slightly uncomfortable situation when entering a holiday home with family or friends and the bedrooms have to be divided? The house you have rented is super beautiful and located on a perfect spot. The website also featured beautiful photos of the master bedroom. In reality it is even better. The second room is also good, but less so. What will you decide? Will you give up the best room to your friends or will you draw lots for it? Probably, you grant it to others, while secretly you also want to stay in the most beautiful room yourself.
When we were working on the design of Villa Tall Horse, we also raised this question. For example, if we go to our house in South Africa with our parents, will we sleep in the guest room ourselves? Then the idea arose: why not make two master bedrooms? Problem solved! In a practical sense, this turned out to be possible by broadening the house slightly and moving the guest bathroom to bedroom 2.
So now Villa Tall Horse has two spacious master bedrooms! Both with a double XL bed and an en-suite bathroom with a design bath and direct access to an outdoor shower.
Bedroom 3
Then there was still a problem, because what to do with the guests who sleep in bedroom 3 and who have to go to the toilet at night. You can't have them knocking on bedroom 2, can you? No, that's not helpful either. So, after looking at the drawings again, we made another adjustment so that bedroom 3 also has its own bathroom with shower and toilet.
According to our friends, we have now created a newproblem, because hasn't the former guest room (the yellow room) now secretly become more beautiful than the original master bedroom (the green room)? Hmmm….I don't know. I think that's very personal. Which room would you prefer to sleep in?
