We are Leon and Miriam, the faces behind Villa Tall Horse. When we first met each other at Johannesburg airport, we could have never imagined that so many years later we would be building our dream house in South Africa together. Villa Tall Horse is located in a really unique spot in South Africa surrounded by nature. We enjoy our villa to the full when we are there! When we are not in South Africa, we rent out our house so that you can enjoy it too.

Oh, also nice to know: Miriam is an enthusiastic photographer and regularly organizes photo trips for people who also love travel and photography.
The Travel Captains is a small-scale travel organization for people who love traveling and enjoy photography. In practice, this means we maintain a slower travel pace and travel in smaller groups than many other organizations. We also carefully select our destinations, routes, and travel periods with photography in mind. We currently offer a variety of destinations for urban, nature, and wildlife photography in 9 countries across Europe and Africa.
Although we specifically focus on photo trips, our target audience is broader than you might expect. People sometimes think they need extensive photography knowledge or expensive equipment for our trips, but that's not the case. You don't have to be an experienced (hobby) photographer. Our trips are also a great fit for people who want to come home with nicer vacation photos and learn to know their camera better.
For wildlife photography, you usually really need a good zoom lens. That's why we also offer participants the opportunity to easily rent lenses or other equipment for a specific trip. This makes it much more accessible to try wildlife photography once, without immediately making large investments in expensive telephoto lenses that you might barely use after such a trip.
